“Let a Christian often think to himself, ‘Who has placed me here, whether I am in a higher sphere or in a lower? Not chance or fortune, as the totally blind heathens imagined; no, it is the wise God who has, by his providence, fixed me in this orb.’” —Thomas Watson

"Your one care should be that faith may increase, whether it be trained by works or by sufferings. Give your gifts freely and for nothing, that others may profit by them and fare well because of you and your goodness. In this way you shall be truly good and Christian."
-Martin Luther True spirituality manifests itself in certain dominant desires.
1. First is the desire to be holy rather than happy. 2. A man may be considered spiritual when he wants to see the honor of God advanced through his life even if it means that he himself must suffer temporary dishonor or loss. 3. The spiritual man wants to carry his cross. 4. Again, a Christian is spiritual when he sees everything from God’s viewpoint. 5. Another desire of the spiritual man is to die right rather than to live wrong. 6. The desire to see others advance at his expense. 7. The spiritual man habitually makes eternity-judgements instead of time-judgments. ~A. W. Tozer "Trouble is one of God’s great servants because it reminds us how much we continually need the Lord." -Jim Cymbala

Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps. Psalm 115:3 But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases. |
